Hi, I’m Theresa

With over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and almost 10 years of coaching, I’ve worked with a number of different leaders and faced countless employment situations. What’s more, as an HR and people leader myself, I know how challenging it is to balance managing ‘the business’ for results and leading ‘the people’ for engagement and retention; investing in people practices is no longer a competitive advantage, employees expect it! Lucky for you, working with leaders to strengthen the interconnected web of people practices, improve communication, and bring out the best in their teams… are the things I’m passionate about and do well.

I received a Bachelor of Commerce, with a major in International Business, from The University of Victoria, and went on to receive a Diploma in Human Resources Management from The British Columbia Institute of Technology. I’m a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and have been a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) since 2005. Throughout the years, I have intentionally invested in my knowledge through continuing professional development.  

My superpower is my curiosity. I am patient and determined to complete as much fact-finding as I can before offering recommendations. I listen intently, and always ask questions with the goal of helping my clients focus on what’s important to them, so they can make decisions they’re confident in and can commit to sustaining. This curiosity combined with my HR experience and expertise, and my objective third-party perspective makes me an excellent partner to have on your journey to career and leadership success. 

Outside of work, I’m a parent of two teenagers. When I can escape from the computer you’ll most likely find me out for a walk by the ocean or in the forest (I’m so grateful to live on the West Coast!), at a driving range or golf course, trying new recipes in my kitchen, dining out with friends, or engaging in a crafty endeavour.

Coaching Services

  • Connect with your leadership strengths, understand different leadership styles, and explore the kind of leader you want to be. Leadership coaching helps you identify your development areas and take action toward becoming your ideal self. Through a series of coaching conversations, reflection, and practice, you receive experiential learning in real-time, based on what’s relevant to you.

  • Confirm your values, inventory your skills, and reconnect with your passions. Career coaching supports you in clarifying where you want to focus your career, starting with a blank slate. Whether you’re at the beginning, middle, or later stage of your career, career coaching can serve as a reset or a new focus to help move you toward your next fulfilling chapter.

Consulting Services

  • Investing in a thorough review for leaders provides a holistic assessment of how they’re performing, from multiple stakeholders’ perspectives. Leveraging your company’s leadership competencies and core values, I will design a customized 360 assessment that provides meaningful insight into leaders’ strengths and opportunities.

    When investing in 360 assessments with me, an initial consultation to review the results is included, where I will support leaders to identify actions to take from the feedback received, followed by additional coaching sessions to support putting those plans into action and evaluating the impacts.

  • Engagement surveys are a great way to stay connected with your team’s sentiment and keep a pulse on how people are doing. Engagement surveys provide insight into what’s working well, along with identifying areas where employees are experiencing discontent that may need minor fine-tuning to major improvements. This service includes designing engagement surveys to include your unique areas of focus, administering surveys, evaluating the results, preparing reports and proposing recommendations for actions.

  • When you have clear values, they drive and influence decision-making in the organization. In a similar way with competencies, they set expectations for performance and conduct.


    If you’re ready to invest in articulating your organization’s values and competencies, or realize they’re in need of updating, I can facilitate the process for you, including support to roll out and implement new values and competencies with success.

  • From recognizing the need to scale up, scale down, or adapt your business in some other way, there’s always a people impact. Reviewing people programs to align with business strategy and company values sets you up for success to have a plan you can work from.

    You might need to plan what talent and/or structure you need for the next chapter of your business, or strategize when and how to introduce new or revised programs or expectations in the workplace. Whatever it is, I can help relieve some pressure and support you through it.
